Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your use of AltGen, operated by Better Version, Inc., a Delaware corporation. By creating an account or using AltGen, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

AltGen generates alt text for images at scale using a vision AI model, via a dashboard, bulk upload, CSV import, page scraper, or REST API, and lets you review, edit, and export the results.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit images you do not have the rights to process.
• Use the service for any illegal purpose, or to generate content that is unlawful or infringing.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, credits, or rate limits.
• Probe, scan, or attack the service's infrastructure, or reverse-engineer the API beyond its published documentation.

5. Content and intellectual property

You retain all rights to the images you submit and the alt text generated for them. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service to you. AltGen's product, branding, and underlying technology remain our intellectual property.

6. Credits, subscriptions, and AppSumo lifetime deals

Paid plans are billed in advance and grant a monthly credit allowance that is used as you generate alt text; unused subscription credits do not carry over unless stated otherwise on your plan. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your billing settings.

AppSumo lifetime deal codes can be stacked (up to the maximum stated on the deal) to increase your tier. AppSumo lifetime tier credits reset monthly and do not roll over; they are separate from, and used before, any subscription or purchased credits on your account. Refunds for AppSumo purchases are handled per AppSumo's refund policy, and revoked codes may reduce your tier and credits accordingly.

7. Payments

We use Stripe for payment processing and never store your card details. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable; AppSumo purchases follow AppSumo's own refund policy.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service for accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated alt text may contain errors and should be reviewed before publishing in contexts where accuracy is critical. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of AltGen is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
